Angel Morton

The Waiting Castle

A Poem

The Waiting Castle
The Waiting Castle Angel Morton

The castle sits silent on the hill

Yet the evil that lies inside

Jails all those who dare enter her.

She works as a machine

Stealing one's courage

Until their sanity is gone.

They cry in the night

Unable to escape their own sleepless grave.

Echos stranded in the rotting halls

Waiting for an explanation

Waiting to escape the crypt that holds them

Mercilessly the castle serves as their tomb

Voraciously awaiting your arrival
